then walking home i came across a very nice solid wood bookshelf on the edge of the road about a large city block and a half away from my home. so i ended attempting to move it with my cargo (my warhammer armies) to no avail, i continued on home to drop off the cargo, and to make a slight bit of room for the book shelf to go, then i went back out, and hauled it by myself the block and a half. it took me an hour to do so, when just walking the distance would be a 5 minute trip. yeah, it was HEAVY. so now i've got a very sore back and a book shelf in my apartment. it's gonna be great, i hanged my pop-tab vest on the side, i'm gonna get a decent dollar store clock and hang it on the other side. i've got my DVD player, and Sattelite box and game cube hooked up on the bottom shelf, and so far just my chainmaille in the drawer that's on the bottom, and warhammer on the top shelf. so it's really helping organize the chaos of my apartment.
going on to another line of thought; as i doubted my ability to attend Polaris (star trek diluted sci-fi convention in toronto) again this year, i've decided upon going to FanExpo (also in toronto but in august) so i'll have a bit longer to save money, and i'll probably take a train up, one with wi-fi access. and there's a listing for a youth hostel on the convention site, saying $25/day stay so that'll be cheaper than the $140/night for polaris's hotels. as well it's got more celebrities that i know of there. ie Buzz Aldrin, Kate Mulgrew, Brent Spiner, Sean Astin, Renee O'Connor and Jeremy Bulloch. so Astronaut, Janeway, Data, Samwise, Gabrielle and Boba Fett. and that's just in the Sci-fi section. (also compared to just the woman who plays Teyla from Stargate Atlantis). oh and they've got the Fonz. as for the AnimeExpo, i'm not sure of who's who off hand and they don't have any guests listed for the GamingExpo section. but i'm gonna go Klingon one day, Heero Yuy the next, and just generic Starfleet officer the third. Woot Cosplay! speaking of the klingon uniform, i need to still make the headpiece, and redo the chest armour. i'm going plate armour for it, a big sheet of mild steel, 17 gauge or so for the shoulders with 22gauge aluminum trim and details. then the chest peice will be again 17 gauge mild steel, or with aluminum trim. the aluminum will be provided via popcans, sliced up. the mild steel will be bought at a metal superstore. the chest piece will be more of a slatted armour, vertical slats, with the lower half hinged so it's still flexible and it's all gonna be bound by 2 belts one around the nipple level and one at the bottom of my rib cage. and under that is the chainmaille shirt, i'll make up some basic bracers and shin-guards probably with aluminum as well.
and now for a more immediate notice, i'm going to my tuesday D&D game. When we last left our daring rogue, i was in a prison barge waiting for rescue as he dreads being away from his belt for so long. The belt was his item familiar in which he put all his skill points from 3rd level on and all his XP. When he's away from it for more than 4 days, he looses the stored XP (and extra XP) and Skill points. so i'm going from a level 4 rogue to a level 2 P.O.S. so after his release/rescue/break-out, he's going to have to go find his belt. so suffer so badly....
so that's all, and keep your stick on the ice, we're all in this together.
One of the guys who plays 40k was there, he had come and gone while my teammate and enemies were making their army lists up, he gave me a few bits for my Space Marine army that he had extra of, and a disc of the different army codexes. So that was the highlight of my day. i'm tweaking some of my units of Marines so i'll be more efficient in battle. ie, giving better weapons to them, reforming their units.... that's about it really, better weapons, and reforming the units. i've made a Devestator Squad and a quartet of Tactical Squads of 10 men each, as opposed to 6 tactical squads of 8 men each.
Anyways, i ended up walking back home and passed through a residential zone, and there were a couple young girls out side, one was playing with a dog, the other sat at a lil table selling lemonade. It was so cute i couldn't help buying a cup. $0.25 a cup, the cup was about 6oz. and it was decently prepared. so yeah, i did my good deed for the day.
So, i was going through a bitz bin for warhammer, and found an orc skull that reminded me of an illithid's head. so i was thinking of making the head into a full model of an illithid, and using that for any future Dungeons & Dragons game that i play an illithid in. mind you, it's unlikely it'd ever be played. So i was looking at the Monster Manual for the entry, though at a +7 level adjustment, i know i'd never play an actual Illithid. sooo... i was looking around other places, ie Complete Psionic, and Expanded Psionic Handbooks and Unearthed Arcana. I found some cool feats in the Complete Psiconic; illithid heritage, illithid grapple (which stacks, and gives you tentacles from your mouth untill you take the feat 4 times and get all 4. At which point, your jaw shifts to look like an Illithid's jaw) and illithid extraction (which allows you to do Intelligence drain damage to an opponent). using flaws, human race, Psionic Warrior, Human Paragon, and fighter classes, i can get the full out Tentacles, and be able to take the Illithid Hunter Prestige Class. That class is focused on hating and killing mind flayers. so this character is part illithid, and hates himself. it's a very angsty theoretical build. it's quite amusing.
So i'm painting my 30 some-odd Space marines hat i've got while watching House. Today i was at work, just to make pizzas, probably made about 15 or so. it was a slow day. i like it when it's slow. Though what sucked was i missed out on my Warhammer Fantasy night. oh well.
Tomorrow's my first day as Mongrelfolk Rogue. I'm joining Hank's Game, Hank's a player in my friday game. So i've been pimping out my rogue to be a major skill-monkey, i plan on making him similar to the Spelunker build where i'll eventually be able to just drill a hole in a guy's house, and squeeze through it, rob him blind with a Bag of Holding Type 4, and slide back out without anyone knowing. I've got an item familiar who gives me a use 3 skill points get one free deal, so i'm using that plus the Nymph's kiss for a major bonus to my skill points totals, i just wish i could have got the item familiar at 1st level, then i could get tonnes of bonus points. oh well. i'm still gonna be uber before i'm epic. it's an Escape Artist check DC 80 to squeeze into a space, that a head shouldn't even fit into. i'm at +13 right now. It's DC 40 to take a small item off someone as a free action with Sleight of hand. I'm at +19 right now, it's sooo close i could just touch it. if only we had a bard in the party. lol.
as i've got tomorrow off, as well as the rest of the week, i'm gonna use tomorrow to cut out my mek'leth as i've been saying i was gonna do that for ages. literally ages, it's been about 4 months since i bought the steel to make it. and i need to clean up my apartment tomorrow.

first off happy 4:20 to anyone who lights up, smoke 'em if you got 'em people. ugh, my damn space marines fell last night, and one of them fell apart. i've just got some new (new being relative) space marines the other day, about 20 of them, and half of them have their pauldrons put on wrong, so now i need to find out how to take them off without breaking them and reassemble them properly. then i need to paint them my colours. Black with silver trim.... I call my Space Marines Chapter the Storm Clouds. Black against the sky but every cloud has a silver lining.... lol oh god that's corny i love it!
i've got a place in a new D&D game on tuesdays, apparently it takes place on a pirate island in a fort, so i'm making a pirate. right now it's just got levels in bard, but i'm gonna take levels in Dread Pirate later. and Legendary Captain. I'm playing a race called the Aventi, they're basically aquatic humans, if you ever watched Reboot, they essentially look like the top half of Bob and Dot when they were in the game in the episode where they meet Andraia.
I start off at level 4... shit it's 10:20 i gotta go. more later!
Got bored, did geeky quiz, i'm a D8. *shrug*

No use trying to fight it, you're an eight-sided die, a d8. A fine example of simple elegance, the d8 is one of the least appreciated types of dice, and is often neglected. You are known to be quiet and shy, outward traits that conceal viscous sarcasm and mean wit. You are very smart, yet wise enough to hide your intelligence the quicker they found out how smart you are, the sooner they'll put you to work, which is something you can do without. People call you dark and pessimistic, or moody and cynical. You find little point in arguing.

i'm watching one of the oddest things i've seen before. it's a reality show, with Mr. T. He gets letters from dysfunctional families and he goes to their house and help them. it's quite odd. One guess as to the show's title: I pity the Fool.
I'm generally not a fan of reality shows, but i've now found two that i actually like, Fat Men Can't Hunt, and I Pity The Fool. Fat Men Can't Hunt is a british reality show where they take about a dozen fat people from england and dump them in africa with the full crew of the show, and have them live with an african tribe to learn to hunt, and gather, and actually work for their dinner. it's a neat lil show, it amuses the hell out of me. mostly cuz the fat people are just so pathetic. lol
okay, it's now been over a day since i've had the mandatory hair cut; re: removing the plaster, i've attempted to shave the patches and longer hair into a common denomitor. ie same length. i scowl at hair, i hate it really, the only times you need it is when it's cold, and then you can always replace it with a good hat. *sigh*
anyways, i'm attempting to rekindle an old friendship that's faded. I'm also attempting to patch up a power cable's tip so i can use my laptop for the first time in months, and then i'll be repairing any dwarves or goblins that have fallen apart due to the 2 weeks of use for tomorrow's Warhammer game, and painting the wolf riders i've missed. Memo to self: i need to get a new thane to replace Thorium Silverbrow (he's my thane i use as my character minature for my Dungeons and Dragons game) Speaking of which, as it's now the week of game, i need to tweak my monk as i apparently gained a level of aristocrat... so i gain a shiteload of nothing. damn npc classes. thought i did away with them when i first died.
Tomorrow, i'm going over to my friend sara's so she can assist me in making a 3/4 mold of my head. from that mold, i'll be making a copy of my head, then building up that with some clay to form some klingon head ridges. then i'll be copying that with some liquid latex, it's already flesh coloured so then i won't need to worry so much about making them it proper coloured unlike the original.
um, yeah, that's it for this update. i'm just watching SG:A right now, i'm wanting to get a SG:A costume for a future Convention i'm hoping to go to in the summer. but only if i can actually afford it. so now is the end of this post.
So, i was re-reading all my old posts, found the first post that i ever met Aly, noticed how attrocious my spelling was back then, and found a geek quiz, of which i did better on.

Continuation of the Molding process: Part 2
so, i gave up trying to make a big dough mold for my head, and i just greased up my head (with pam) and made up 2 cups of plaster of paris, and smushed it onto my head. it's very heavy and warm on top. i'm so gonna need to go have a shower after this. hopefully i can get this off my head in one useable piece, if not i'll be looking very odd walking down to the hospital with a cloak on, cuz i'm not gonna go out with a plaster molding on my head and have people see it.

I'm currently in the process of making a mold of my head, attempting to use a flour/water mixture to make a positive of my head. not so much useful. ...and now i've got dried dough in my eyebrows and hair. i'm gonna be attempting to make a positive/negative of my head with the plaster of paris... hopefully it works.
and Hm. appears to be my word of the night.
okay, well this has been a LONG hiatus for this blog. i think it was my first one, could be mistaken. anywho, i was bored at work and looked up Supertramp Logical song, and star trek search for spock. [now i know what you're thinking. oh no he's still obsessed. yes i am. to some degree. i've very much mellowed from star trek. i've diversified my geekdom. to Medieval things such as the SCA, to RPG things like Dungeons and Dragons, to Geeky war tactic things such as Warhammer Fantasy (i play Dwarves and the Orcs & Goblins)] And one of my previous posts came up first on google's search. so i'm back. i'm gonna rework my display theme (hopefully) to more of a generic militaristic style.
hm, an update of what i'm doing now adays? well, i disappeared off to Sault Ste. Marie for 1.5 years going to Sault College for their Chef Training Program, i met my biological older half sister and her kids, moved to norwich region for a month to live with my sister to get to know her and that branch of the family, met my natural father, found out that i'm half indian from my dad's side, my "tribe" is from the Trois Riveire area, i moved to london to go to Fanshawe College for a semester also in Chef Training, went on OW for a few months, went and lived with a couple of friends for a few months, and moved into my own apartment, got a job at the Western Fair Sports Center as a short order cook. so, yeah, that about sums up the last 2 years or so.
